Bay Farm Elementary School currently has the largest garden program in Alameda. The mission of the Outdoor Learning Center (OLC) is to teach students science, math, art, and nutrition outdoors. Each student plants, grows, harvests, cooks and eats fresh organic produce from the garden. We are very fortunate that the PTA provides funding for two part-time garden teachers. Sarah Karlson (currently Katie Beaton) teaches 4th and 5th grades, while Lorri Garrett teaches K – 3rd grades.
